Our 6th Annual Survivors’ Conference will take place on Saturday 11 March 2023 from 9am – 5pm.
Our venue is the Royal College Physicians in Regents Park, London.

If you want to create supportive friendships and professional contacts, and help the Success community grow, come and get involved. Share your experience, whether survivor, affected family or professional.
We really hope you will join us, with your friends and families from all over the UK.
At the conference we aim to:
- Celebrate the challenges our children, young people and their families have overcome.
- Share stories in person, and in groups, through art and film.
- Hear latest updates from key-note professional speakers and from ‘Success’.
- Provide interactive opportunities to ‘ask the expert’ (medical, legal, rehabilitation, psychiatry, educational, social, governmental).
- Address educational and vocational hopes, meet professionals and policy-makers.

Speaker: Dr Helen Spoudeas
Session: Plenary Session 1
Title: Cure alone is not enough
Biography: Spoudeas is a leading neuroendocrine specialist. In 2000, Dr Spoudeas founded the SUCCESS project, the first and largest neuroendocrine surveillance service in the UK, and the precursor to Success.

Title: Turning Words into Actions
Biography: Guy is an excepted hereditary peer who entered the House of Lords in July 2021. He sits on the Conservative benches. Until 2019 when he retired, he practiced as a barrister, specializing in the fields of legal practice/negligence and clinical negligence. He was Chairman of the Bar Council in 2005

Title: Why Success Exists
Biography: I am delighted to be able to once again support Success. As a charity committed to helping children recover their full potential after treatment for brain tumours, it is transforming lives for the better.

Title “A Work of Art”
Biography: Annabelle Higgins is a 16 year old writer, actor/director, figure skater, and artist, who is also a survivor of pilocytic astrocytoma. She has recently started her own theatre company, Wide And Universal Theatre, and has many aspirations in the worlds of performance and literature.

We are excited to be able to receive up to 300 people from 8.30am coffee and registration. At this beautiful larger venue in Regents Park, London, we will deliver 4 parallel and age appropriate sessions, on themes requested by previous attendees and meeting our objectives:
- To gain knowledge, information, resources and signposting to our own and other’ support services.
- To be inspired through hearing first-hand from other survivors, how they have overcome challenges and achieved life goals and aspirations.
- To ensure survivors have a voice, to raise awareness of their unmet needs.
We are keen to reach a much bigger audience from across the UK and have secured funding to allow us to offer affordable tickets, with additional early bird discounts, and limited travel bursaries on a first-come, first served basis.
We are delighted to be joined by our Patron, Dominic Grieve KC, and Lord Sandhurst KC, as well as health professionals and experts, and of course our courageous survivors and their families.
