Opportunity to take part in a UK research study exploring hyperphagia (persistent hunger/overeating) in people living with hypothalamic hunger, also known as acquired hypothalamic obesity (aHO).
Hypothalamic hunger occurs when the hypothalamus (the part of the brain responsible for regulating appetite and energy balance) is damaged. This is often caused by a tumour such as craniopharyngioma (CP), pituitary adenoma, hypothalamic glioma, or another optic pathway tumour, or by treatment for the tumour (such as surgery or radiotherapy).
The study involves completing a short online questionnaire (approximately 20–30 minutes), with an optional follow-up interview. Taking part is entirely voluntary and confidential and will not affect your clinical care.
Although there may not be a direct benefit to participants, the findings may help improve understanding of hypothalamic hunger and inform future support and treatment options.
