Success announces plans for its sixth Annual Survivors’ Conference
The conference, which is the charity’s first face-face event in three years, will take place on Saturday 11 March at the Royal College of Physicians in London.
The Conference will be an opportunity to share experiences and make friends with other survivors, siblings and parents, and to listen to inspirational speakers. It will also be a great chance to gain knowledge and interact with esteemed health professionals and policymakers.
A varied agenda will include a charity update, advice on accessing targeted support, a chance to hear from survivors first-hand, and key-not speeches from professionals in the health care arena.
The aims of this year’s conference are to:
· Celebrate the challenges our children, young people and their families have overcome.
· Share stories in person, and in groups, through art and film.
· Provide interactive opportunities to ‘ask the expert’ (medical, legal, rehabilitation, psychiatry, educational, social, governmental).
· Address educational and vocational hopes, meet professionals and policy-makers.
There is still little awareness of how a brain tumour affects a child’s developmental future and Success and this conference are dedicated to improving this awareness.
The conference will take place from 9am – 5pm.
